Local Memorial Day Events

memorial day

Memorial Day weekend is the first long weekend which un-officially kicks off summer.  There are many local town observances, parades or ceremonies to honor the fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. While you are enjoying your long weekend, please take a few moments to remember the men and women who made freedom possible for you and our fellow citizens.

Outdoor Festivals

If you want to get out of the house this weekend, there are two outdoor festivals with entertaining options!

K-Fest – Eastern States Fairgrounds, West Springfield

This 4-day event has grown and is now about more than just food! Beside the 30+ food vendors, K-Fest features a full carnival including rides and games, parades, food eating competitions, plus craft beers, vodka and wine. Plus there will be fireworks displays nightly, and live music on multiple stages. Did we mention FOOD?! A great family friendly event!

Paradise City Arts Festival – Three County Fairgrounds in Northampton, MA.

Saturday, May 27th – Monday, May 29th.

If art is more your taste, check out the amazingly talented, world class artists at the Paradise City Arts Festival. Founded in 1995, this festival features museum quality art, one of a kind crafts, sculpture and more. Paradise City Festival fills four buildings, features an outdoor Sculpture Garden and courtyard and a 12,000 square-foot Festival Dining Tent and Soundstage.
