Celebrating a Year of B5 Ultra Clean

In October 2016, Fsi Oil and Propane proudly made the switch to B5 Ultra Clean Fuel, a blend of 5 percent biodiesel, 95 percent Ultra-low Sulfur Heating Oil (ULSHO), and UltraGuard™ Advanced Fuel Treatment.
Since then, we’ve delivered more than 150,000 gallons of pure biofuel to the Greater Springfield Area, resulting in a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of more than 2.82 million pounds!
This effort stems from a firmly held belief that you deserve the cleanest and most efficient fuel available. Let’s take a closer look at B5 Ultra Clean Fuel:
- ULSHO contains less than 15 parts per million (ppm) sulfur.
- Biodiesel is the sole alternative fuel to have successfully satisfied the requirements set for emissions and health under the Clean Air Act. It is renewable, nontoxic and biodegradable. Compared to conventional diesel, Biodiesel reduces carcinogenic compound emissions by as much as 85 percent.
- A premium fuel additive, UltraGuard™ Advanced Fuel Treatment includes stabilizers and corrosion inhibitors.
