Summer in New England means there is always something fun to do outdoors! Check out these great events in July and enjoy those long summer days!
Forest Park Concert
July 2: The United States Army Field Band will perform on the ballfield in Forest Park at 2:30 p.m. The outdoor concert is open to the public free of charge.
Independence Day Celebration – South Hadley
Michael Smith Middle School, July 3 with a rain date of July 5.
Independence Day Celebration – Amherst
July 4, events begin at 6 p.m. with fireworks at 9:30 p..m. McGuirk Field, UMass, Amherst.
Independence Day – Springfield
July 4, Fireworks, live musical entertainment and food. The 215th Army Band of the Massachusetts Army National Guard to perform a free concert as a part of Star Spangled Springfield. Festivities will start at 7PM in Riverfront Park. Fireworks by Grucci at 9:30pm. Riverfront Park, downtown Springfield.
Independence Day Celebration – West Springfield
July 4, West Springfield will hold another family Fourth of July on the Town Common. Enjoy a full chicken dinner served up by West Springfield Unico from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Independence Day – Monson
July 4. Summerfest Celebration, Quarry Hill School.
Look Park Presents Annual Glasgow Scottish Lands Festival
July 15. There will several kinds of competitions throughout the day including pipe bands, Highland dancers, drum majors and more. For an authentic taste of Scotland, vendors will be cooking up some traditional fare from meat pies and from fish and chips to Haggis. Gates open at 9AM.
Basketball Hall of Fame & Kids Safety Expo
The 9th Annual Kids Safety Expo will be held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield on Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is entertaining and educational for families and includes FREE activities such as fire safety, k-9 demonstration, clowns, giveaways and resources for lost or missing children such as fingerprinting and dental impressions.
Family Safety Day – Holyoke Merry-Go-Round
July 23rd, 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm. Holyoke Fire Department, Holyoke Police Department, Holyoke Gas & Electric, Action Ambulance, and Holyoke Medical Center combine to bring trucks, vehicles, ambulance, Sparky the Fire Dog, safety information, and lots of fun for the whole family. Ask questions regarding fire, electricity, health and safety issues and meet Sparky.
