During the colder months, you are limited on your options for family getaways. Typically, you are left with only two… skiing or snowboarding (and that’s if there is snow on the ground). Jay Peak Resort is one of the premier ski resorts in the region and over the past few years they have taken on significant improvements to their amenities. The most impressive improvement is the year-round water park.

With long winters and frigid temperatures, this waterpark requires an abundance of reliable heating. Heating with electricity is impractical and prohibited due to a new law in Vermont and natural gas is unavailable. In order to meet the large heating demands, they turned to propane as their ideal choice.

Propane is powerful and reliable enough to keep the resort running and heated (even in the coldest conditions). Jay Peak has found that their propane boilers create a cost savings of about 14% or more than $100,000 annually. They have reduced emissions by nearly 900 metric tons of CO2 per year compared to heating oil.
