Merry Christmas from FSi Oil and Propane! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and we want to thank you for allowing us to share the season with you. No matter how cold it gets here in Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut, you can rest easy knowing our hardworking team of experts is here for you if you need us.

We’re always grateful to you, our loyal customers, for allowing us to do what we love every day. But we’re also grateful for our planet and proud to be stewards of the environment. We’ve been working hard to reduce our carbon footprint since 2005, when we started delivering Bioheat® fuel. Since then, we’ve continued to refine and develop our range of eco-friendly fuels, which we’re proud to say includes renewable propane and Bioheat® fuel. In addition, our fleet of vehicles now runs on renewable diesel.

If MassDEP Gets Their Way, You’ll Pay

As the MA Clean Heat Standard inches closer to becoming a reality, residents of the Commonwealth are being faced with consequences and issues related to this radical climate policy. The energy grid in Massachusetts is not ready for the total electrification proposed in the current version of the CHS, yet people across the state are now staring down the barrel of being forced to replace their reliable propane, oil, or gas heating equipment with a heat pump that costs thousands of dollars. We’ve seen headlines recently about climate policy wreaking havoc on people’s lives in Massachusetts, such as Boston’s battle to ban fossil fuels and Cape Cod’s fight to stop their beaches from being torn up for wind power projects (source: Boston Globe).

Propane & Bioheat® Fuel Should Be Part of the Clean Energy Solution

Consumers need real choices that can help reduce carbon with immediate impact on the environment and no consequences to local towns. Propane and Bioheat® fuel are available and ready to do just that. We’re Doing Our Part to Help the Environment

At FSi Oil and Propane, we care greatly for the environment. Over the years, we have been proud to develop our range of eco-friendly fuels to help reduce our carbon footprint while still bringing our customers the premium-quality fuels they need. We’re proud to be utilizing these low carbon fuels across our service area:

Bioheat® Fuel

Bioheat® fuel is a blend of renewable biodiesel and ultra-low sulfur heating fuel. This sustainable source of energy is delivered to every heating oil delivery customer who orders from us. It lowers emissions to protect the environment and promotes better operation of your heating system.

Renewable Propane

Renewable propane is an alternative fuel made from feedstocks such as natural fats, vegetable oils, and grease. It works the same way as conventional propane and can be used in your existing propane heating equipment or appliances with no expensive conversions. It has recently become available in Massachusetts and will begin to be distributed to our FSi customers in the future.

Renewable Diesel

We now fuel our entire fleet with renewable diesel, which was created in response to a demand for cleaner-burning diesel fuel, which is used to power fleet vehicles. It’s not made from fossil fuels and is produced in a similar manner to the biodiesel used in Bioheat® fuel.
